A urologist deals with diseases of the urinary tract in both sexes (kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra) and diseases of the male reproductive organs, including the prostate.
Urinary symptoms are common and easily put down to age, but the cause may be a condition that needs treatment. An examination with ultrasound is simple and gives a lot of information in a short time.
At Poliklinika Sente the urological examination is done with ultrasound. Flexible cystoscopy, removal of genital warts with a CO2 laser, minor procedures under local anaesthesia and catheter changes are available.
When you book, say which doctor you would like to see. If there is no free appointment with that doctor, reception will offer you the nearest available slot.

Examinations carried out at Poliklinika Sente, with a description of what they involve and how to prepare.
Ultrasound shows organs and tissues in real time, without radiation and without pain. It is completely safe, so the examination can be repeated as often as necessary.
What it involves and how to prepare →Cystoscopy is an examination of the inside of the bladder and the urethra. For many patients it was for years a byword for discomfort, and the reason was the instrument itself: a rigid cystoscope that does not follow the body's natural curves.
Poliklinika Sente now has a modern flexible cystoscope, a thin and bendable instrument with a camera that adapts to the patient's anatomy. The examination is performed with a local anaesthetic gel, on an outpatient basis, and takes only a few minutes. The doctor follows the camera image in real time and explains what can be seen straight away.
The examination is most often recommended for blood in the urine, frequent or recurrent infections, difficulty passing urine, and as part of regular follow-up after earlier treatment. Fear of this examination is common and understandable, which is why we go through every step with the patient beforehand, so they know exactly what to expect.
Cystoscopy is carried out by appointment, after a consultative examination. We will explain the preparation and everything you need to bring when you book your appointment.
A preventive urological examination with a PSA blood test is usually advised after the age of 50, and earlier if prostate cancer runs in the family. Urinary symptoms are a reason for an examination at any age.
