Laser treatment of varicose veins
Varicose veins no longer have to mean major surgery, general anaesthesia and a long period of rest. Endovenous laser ablation is available at Poliklinika Sente: through a single small puncture in the skin, under ultrasound guidance, a thin laser fibre is introduced into the vein and closes the diseased vein from the inside. The blood is then redirected naturally through the healthy veins.
The procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia and takes only a short time. There are no conventional incisions or stitches, and therefore no visible scars. Most patients get up immediately after the procedure and go home the same day, wearing elastic compression and with a follow-up appointment already arranged.
